The Stamford Sessions - Vol. I - Limited Edition Single Barrel Straight Rye Whiskey

VOLUME I

This inaugural release of The Stamford Sessions is a single barrel of 12 year old rye whiskey from Indiana that has a unique mash bill of 51% rye and 49% malted barley. It was bottled at barrel strength, 127.6 proof, and yielded only 98 bottles. It was personally selected by the founders of First Cut Barrel Co. as a tribute to the craft, the journey, and the moments best shared over a great pour.

TASTING NOTES

Nose: Is this scotch? It’s not, but scotch lovers will certainly wonder. It hits early with herbal notes like marjoram and thyme along with plenty of mint. The rye brings some relative sweetness.

Palate: Classic barley malt hay starts it out, with some fun MGP rye notes sneaking in like cherry and mint. There are little bits of iodine and sea mist diving in and out.

Finish: It’s long, with the scotch-forward notes sneaking in again.
